Sister Sharon Hou shared with the 1.5 Generation Congregation at EFCI on the topic of “The Soil Project” Sharon Hou reminded us that we need to be sensitive and obedient to God’s words, and constantly trying to identify and live it out. There are three symbols in this analogy, the sower, the seed and the soil. This story often refers to the person spreading gospel, the word of God, and our heart. The seeds spread by the sower are essentially the same, but they have very different outcomes because of the differences in the locations they were spread.

However, it is a good time to think about what we (singles and married) are getting ourselves into in pursuing marriage relationships.  It is not a surprise that we operate on a lot of unexamined beliefs.  The same goes for our beliefs about marriage.  What makes some marriages work and some don’t?  If your answer is good conflict resolution, communication skills, or active listening, you’re on the same boat as many people including marriage therapists who are often frustrated by how difficult it is to make marriage work even with good communication skills (Gottman & Silver, 2015).

From the passage of Romans, Pastor Ben emphasized that Jesus Christ is God and Jesus died for your sin and resurrected. Because of this belief, we are able to have hope even when facing uncertainties.

Pastor KC Liu shared with the 1.5 Generation congregation at EFCI on the topic of how Christians should exist with the government through the direct instruction from the bible. KC delivered the insights that Paul cares about how Christians behave as citizens. Paul wants Christians to be good citizens of the state, to be a good witness and have good testimonies.  He saw many Christians not being good citizens, like not paying taxes, or rebelling against authority, and that concerns him deeply.

Kitty preached to the 1.5 EFCI 1.5 Generation Congregation through the passage from Joshua chapter 3 to describe the how we can follow in God’s promise since He is the one who knows the future, not us. The ultimate challenge for us is whether we are willing to follow God or our own ways.

Andy declared that we often get tired because we are relying on ourselves to go through life, but instead, we should do life God’s way.
